Romantic Lingo

I heard the best line yesterday during a talk in church, and I just have to share. And to prefice this, for all you non-Texans, HEB is the local grocery chain down here.

I was nervous about asking her father for permission to marry his daughter. I wanted to be sure to say the right thing, when suddenly the answer just came to me. It was something that I'd grown up knowing. So I went to her father, and "Sir, I'd like to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage, and in return I'm prepared to give you eight cows for her."

I love my wife. She means more to me than all the beef in all the HEB's in all of Texas. And all the pork chops and chicken, too.

What could be more romantic than that?

Wasn't that the funniest thing. I wish I was a true texan and could be worth all the meat in all the HEB's.

Wow, to get a man to put something before his diet -- all of it! Funny yet sweet in a manly way. =)
