...I finally read Mockingjay. Final analysis?
Well, on the one hand...
Not quite the ending I had hoped for. But then, I'm a hopeless romantic and want to read books only with happy endings. Oh sure, one might argue that it was indeed a happy ending, but not nearly happy, fluffy, warm-fuzzy enough for me. I won't list details in case you're still waiting to get a copy of the book into your hot little hands.
On the other...
I think the author stayed true to form, if a little over-the-top with the body count this time. I think it was probably a more accurate depiction of how someone feels/acts during moments of complete stress, panic, guilt-ridden anxiety, debased war-torn living conditions. It doesn't paint a pretty picture, but try comparing her feelings to some of those who've actually faced a war like that, and they may be close.
Go check out the Hunger Games series if you haven't already. Definitely worth reading.

I loved the ending... just didn't like how it took to get there! The body count was horrible, I agree.
I read it this week finally! I like that she at least ended on a note of hope for the future.
