(Ahem...)
I got a new haircut a while ago. I don't think I ever really debuted it, but here it is. It looked good when my hairstylist did it all pretty, but I can't recreate it myself. There are some obvious limitations to working at my job, one being that my hair has to be long enough to fit into a ponytail. (Ok, it doesn't HAVE to, but it sure makes life easier.) In conclusion, I like the shorter length, but I'm done with the bangs, at least until the busy season is over. I really don't know what to try next with my hair.

Adam and I, "defying gravity!" I loved the music from Wicked, and now I can't get it out of my head. It was fun to get all dressed up and go on a date with Adam and some good friends.

I'm trying to finally learn how to use my digital SLR camera better. (Read, take it off of auto and actually use the manual settings.) I've read a lot about it, and seen examples on photographer's blogs, but I thought I'd get really serious and take a one-time class that was offered by a local photographer. I learned some helpful hints, and it was good for me because she made us go outside and actually practice right then so it stuck a little better in my head. I'm still practicing, and my next step is to get serious with my new Photoshop Elements. Here's a couple pictures I tried taking on my own:

(The last two I took with a borrowed zoom lens. That's next on my photography wish list! I would say a bigger camera bag is next, but I know a little something like that is coming for my anniversary gift. My husband knows me well. :)
This is a picture that one of the girls from the photography class took of me. She obviously has more practice than I do.

Adam and I went to TWO Spurs games this month, thanks to SeaWorld. My supervisor, who also happens to be the Spurs in-court entertainment announcer, took us backstage to see everything that happens behind-the-scenes at a professional basketball game. It was a lot of fun! And Adam was randomly chosen during the second game to participate in one of the court challenges, and he won a $100 to Home Depot by shooting a beautiful free-throw shot!

My other hobby of late has been to try to finally get our house decorated. We haven't quite gotten the pictures up on the walls yet (although we do have an idea of how we're going to do it), so instead I'm turning to plants. Well, they're all outside decorations for now, but I'm experimenting to see if I can keep these ones alive. I'm particularly proud of my mini-garden.

And, last, I finally broke my 5-year-old phone. In a random fit of rage I hurled it across the room...ah, I mean, it broke when I dropped it on the floor. I broke down and went mainstream--I bought the HTC Evo. It has now graduated to being my biggest time waster...and I love it!

LOVE your haircut, LOVE the pics you are taking and even more so that you are totally trying and learning new things! LOVE your garden pots (the brown ones especially). So JEALOUS that you went to Wicked - am I officially the last person on the planet that likes musicals and still hasn't seen it nor do I know anything about it? I think so.
Most importantly, LOVE your updates. Though I hope your sickness is gone by the time you read this ;)
Wow, that haircut really makes a different you. Still beautiful, but way different. And I second the love of the brown planter pots. Sigh. The prettiest my outside gets is getting RID of a mini fence around our garden (it's rotting itself to pieces). Hope you're feeling better. And now back to dishes. =)
Cute, cute haircut but I can understand having issues with the bangs. I don't like hair in my face so bangs are out for me. Plus they make me look like I'm 14.
I'm super jealous of your Wicked date. Too fun! I'm still dying to see it.
Your photos are great! I dream of someday owning a DSLR.
Love the post! I need an SLR class to, to make me practice. Question: Who do you like better Glinda or Elphaba?
Good question. In the performance we saw, Glinda was by far the better character, but in the CD that I listen to they both have amazing voices!
Sassy haircut and I've been dying to see Wicked. We went to Les Mis for Valentine's and I think that was pretty much our Broadway budget for the year but someday. I'm loving all the green from the garden - we're still totally barren from winter over here.
Ps - sorry you're sick! Hope you feel better soon!
Girl, that was sheer luck that picture turned out for me. :) Doesn't always happen! I have to laugh that you took a picture of our "outdoor shed". Ha ha! And last question.. which zoom lens? I tried my newest zoom lens I got over Christmas this weekend, and I really like it!
