A little catch-up

Well, so this has not been my year for posting. And now that it's December, it feels a little late to catch up. So I'll just post a few highlights...and leave you to wonder what we were really doing all year. (Mwa-ha-haaa!)

As you might know...I turned 29 for the second time this year! Since we'd already celebrated my birthday with our little CA trip, it was a pretty quiet day, which was exactly what I wanted! Just me and the husband spending time together. The highlight of our evening was eating Rome's pizza and watching some poor teenage boy embarrass himself in front of a girl by dropping his phone when she said hi to him and stammering some sort of "hello" back. Poor kid! Totally made our night. Oh, and of course the party streamers someone left on our garage! I was home alone at the time and heard some loud banging on our garage door--the streamers were blowing in the wind. I thought some hooligans were throwing rocks at the door, and it spooked me pretty well. But thank you for the thought!

This year I cooked my first turkey! SeaWorld gave all of its employees a free turkey for Thanksgiving (I'm pretty sure that was our Christmas bonus). It turned out pretty well, but a whole turkey for two people is a lot to eat. Apparently it didn't even phase Adam, having to eat turkey all week, but I was done after three days. Good thing it freezes well.

I've been trying to practice my photography a lot more, and I've been watching videos online of how to actually use the Photoshop Elements Adam bought for me for Christmas last year. Unfortunately, I haven't yet mastered the photoshop, otherwise these photos would go from just ok to eye popping, but I'm really enjoying going on photo shoots with a friend photographer from our ward.

And here is the obligatory work photo. This whale is Crissy, and I've been working hard to get her back into shows---her maternity leave is over. And she's been great! That's the best part of my job, seeing the animals make progress.

We've got a "new" show for Christmas this year, and when I mean "new" I mean the only thing new about it is the music and costumes. Our actions, movements, timings, everything else is the same. It's the Azul show put to Nutcracker music. I think it was a test this year to see how well the audience reacts to it, and then maybe next year we'll get Christmas props for the stage and other stuff like that. I do like that our costumes are sparkly and they look really good in the lights of a night show, but I don't like that because of that we have to have the late show in the park. Our last show is at 8:30, so I work a lot of evenings. It's COLD! It's hard to tell, but that's me during a night show. You can kind of see the sparkly blue outfits we get to wear. I love the water streaming from my hair!

This is the Candy Cane Forest at SeaWorld. It's my favorite of their decorations.

We've put up Christmas decorations, or rather I've put up decorations, and Adam admires them. I did recruit his help in getting lights up on our house this year. In the process we acquired a nice, HUGE ladder that takes both of us to move. Adam held the ladder while I got to scramble up it and hang the lights. Let's just blame his knee on that so that he doesn't get into trouble for making me actually do the light hanging. :)

That's all for now! Hopefully soon we'll get back to a regular schedule of updates. We've both been a little busy lately.

Yea for updates. And friends who celebrate your bday in style with decorations ;), and pics of you at work (thought not fun about the late hours!), and christmas decorating. So excited to see y'all in a couple weeks!!!

I had a feeling that was the same show as Azul. I liked the costumes though. I felt so bad for you after the last show we went to. The poor clown guy that entertains at the beginning was shivering after talking to the guests afterwards. You guys must build up so much stamina. Merry Christmas to both of you!

I like your photos! I am envious of your camera. I am going to have to get one soon . . . I love Photoshop Elements! I use it all the time, it is great for scrapbooking, too.
